Massah Fofana is a versatile, multidisciplinary visual artist exploring the intersections of Abstract and Modern Black Art,Tribalism, and Afrofuturism in Womanism. Originally from Flatbush and currently based in East New York, Brooklyn, she creates paintings, multimedia collages, murals, and photographs that reflect her vibrant and eclectic femininity to her style.

Her pink, black, and gold paintings and collages offer a powerful exploration of sexuality and identity among middle-aged women. In these pieces, Fofana uses these bold colors to convey themes of maturity, sensuality, and resilience. Pink often symbolizes femininity and vulnerability, while black suggests depth and mystery, and gold evokes strength, value, and confidence. Together, these colors create a complex, layered portrayal of middle-aged women as empowered and sensual beings.

Through abstract forms and intricate textures, Fofana challenges societal stereotypes, celebrating the vitality and self-assuredness that can flourish with age. These works have resonated with audiences, contributing to important conversations about aging, desire, and self-expression in contemporary art.

As a teaching artist and studio owner, she shares her knowledge and passion with aspiring artists and youth in her community. She is a mother, grandmother and cat mom.
